Energy is everything! I learned this early in life. It affects how we feel, think, and move through the world. When our energy is stuck, drained, or chaotic, it shows up as exhaustion, brain fog, or even physical pain. And today, I wanna talk about something that can help you out—it’s called ENERGY MEDICINE—a powerful way to realign, restore, and shift your energetic state for better health and vitality.

So if you’ve been feeling off, here are three energy-shifting habits that can help you tap into the power of energy medicine and bring more balance into your life. They’re easy to integrate, and with time, they can make a real difference.

1. Movement: Moving Through Stagnant Energy

The body is meant to move. You are nature. Remember that deeply. When we sit too long or “potato it out” more than we should, stress builds up, emotions get trapped, and energy stagnates. Movement is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to shift energy, clear blockages, and create an open, flowing system.

And listen, I talk about this A LOT because as a coach, I know how critical movement is for overall well-being. It’s a huge part of my 4 Element Coaching System for true health.

But not all movement is the same. Intentional, mindful movement like Steel Mace Fitness, Qi Gong, Yoga, or Primal Movement, activates the body’s energy centers while strengthening both body and mind. These aren’t just workouts; they’re energetic resets that help release stored tension, regulate the nervous system, and cultivate inner strength.

Next time you feel stuck, try slow, controlled movements with deep breaths or pick up a steel mace and move with purpose. Pay attention to each start and find, and you will feel the difference as your energy realigns!

2. Breathwork: Shifting Energy with Every Inhale & Exhale

Breath is life, and it’s also one of the fastest ways to shift your energy. When we’re stressed, we tend to breathe shallowly, keeping our bodies in a constant state of fight or flight. But with conscious breathwork, we can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, signaling safety, clarity, and renewal. And I don’t know about you, but I know I need a reset on most days! Life is hectic, and that’s okay, we just need to integrate practices to help us get through it. You are not alone.

So what can you do? Simple techniques like box breathing, alternate nostril breathing (one of my favorites), or the 4-7-8 method can regulate your energy almost instantly. Breathwork clears stagnant energy, improves oxygen flow, and helps calm the mind, perfect for moments when you need a reset.

3 Breathwork Techniques to Try:

1. Box Breathing (for instant calm & focus)

  • Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds then hold for 4 Seconds
  • Exhale slowly through your mouth for 4 seconds and then hold for 4 seconds
  • Repeat for 1-3 minutes

This is great for when you feel overwhelmed or anxious. It balances your nervous system fast.

2. Alternate Nostril Breathing (for energetic balance)

  • Close your right nostril with your thumb, inhale through your left nostril for 4 seconds
  • Close your left nostril with your ring finger, exhale through your right nostril for 4 seconds
  • Inhale through your right nostril for 4 seconds
  • Close your right nostril, exhale through your left nostril for 4 seconds
  • Repeat for 3-5 minutes

This practice is amazing for focus, balance, and stress relief. It’s one of my personal favorites.

3. 4-7-8 Breathing (for relaxation & better sleep)

  • Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
  • Hold your breath for 7 seconds
  • Exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds
  • Repeat for 4-5 rounds

Use this when you need to calm your nervous system, lower stress, or prepare for sleep.

3. Grounding: Connecting Back to Earth’s Energy

We live in a world full of screens, stress, and artificial lighting that constantly pulls us away from our natural rhythms. Grounding (earthing) is the practice of reconnecting with the Earth’s energy to restore balance.

And look, I know some people side-eye this one, but I highly recommend checking out Earthing by Clinton Ober. Just try it. It’s one of the easiest and most natural things you can do for your well-being.

How to Ground Yourself:

  • Get outside: Walk barefoot on grass, dirt, or sand for at least 10-20 minutes a day.
  • Sit on a rock or touch a tree: This helps discharge built-up stress and recalibrate your energetic field.
  • Lay on the ground: Literally just lay on the earth and breathe. You’ll feel the difference.

If You Can’t Get Outside?

Not everyone has access to nature daily, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ground yourself indoors. Here are some alternatives:

  • Use grounding mats or sheets: These plug into a grounded outlet to mimic the Earth’s charge.
  • Wear grounding socks or shoes: Some brands make footwear with conductive materials to help with grounding.
  • Take an Epsom salt bath: Magnesium helps discharge excess energy and relax the nervous system.

Grounding has been scientifically shown to reduce inflammation, improve sleep, and lower cortisol levels. And let’s be real, who doesn’t need more of that?

Shifting Your Energy Starts with Small Changes

Energy medicine isn’t some woo-woo concept. It’s a real, practical way to engage with your body’s natural healing processes. Whether it’s moving with intention, harnessing the power of breath, or reconnecting with the Earth, these habits can help you shift stagnant energy, feel more balanced, and reclaim your vitality. Which one will you try today? Let me know in the comments!
